Requirements
— Age: 19+
— Minimum one year out of high school (whether in college or working)
— Baptized member of FBK or another church with similar beliefs and practice
— Clear understanding of the Gospel
— Completed Background Check
— Interview and References to ensure suitability for working with minors

Pay and Expectations
— Compensation: hourly wage, up to 25 hours per week
— Time off without pay is offered as needed and approved by the pastoral staff
Potential Areas of Responsibility
General Office Work
— Assist with behind the scenes preparations for summer events (planning details, printing flyers, preparing promotional materials and decorations, organizing and communicating with volunteers, etc.)
— Assist secretarial staff with office coverage during special events
— Free up full time staff during camp and VBS weeks
Audio/Visual Media & Social Media
— Help manage FBK’s social media accounts for pre and post-event promotion
— Assist with A/V Media tasks for weekly services and special ministry events
Children’s Ministry Programming
Assist with summer events: VBS, Kids Camp, Terrific Thursdays, etc.
— Sunday and Wednesday Night Programming
— Assist Children’s Director in preparing for August back to school events
Student and College Ministry Programming
— Student Life Summer Camp
— Special Summer Event(s)
— 7th Grade Welcome/Fall Kickoff Event Planning for August
— College ministry: help plan and implement summer events and Bible Study
— College ministry: help prepare for back to school events, UNA church fairs, outreach events, etc.
Facilities
— Some weeks may involve work around the building & grounds
— Assistance with some custodial work (e.g. vacuuming in the afternoons during VBS)
General Qualifications
Availability: Interns should be available to work weekly from mid-May to the end of July, depending on their college-specific semester start and end dates. Weeks off for family vacation, other trips, etc. should be requested in advance, should not conflict with major ministry events (e.g. VBS, Kids’ Camp, Independence Celebration), and are subject to staff approval.
Enthusiasm for Ministry: A genuine desire to serve God and the church, and a positive attitude towards the work involved.
Willingness to learn, be trained, and grow in discipleship: openness to instruction, feedback, and developing new skills relevant to various ministry areas. Willing to read and discuss short articles and one book related to the summer intern’s area of service within the church.
Teamwork and Collaboration: Ability to work effectively with church staff, volunteers, and other interns.
Communication Skills: Good verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to listen attentively and express ideas clearly.
Dependability and Responsibility: Reliability in completing assigned tasks, staffing events, and a proactive approach to responsibilities.
Initiative and Self-Motivation: Ability to take initiative, identify needs, and work independently when appropriate.
Flexibility: Willingness to adjust to changing circumstances and take on various tasks as needed.
Professionalism: Maintaining appropriate conduct, dress, and communication in a ministry setting.
